It's British, and it's Best

Thursday was British Library Day, so it was a good day. The British Library is much on par with the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., as it is a national library. This means it receives one copy of every item published in the United Kingdom. I will be posting a blog about this on my other blog, so look for more information there in the coming days. It was glorious and the post will be as well. (Here is the post!)

The British Library from the outside. It looks like an ocean liner!
Before we went to the British Library, we stopped at King's Cross Station to take a photo at Platform 9 3/4. It was amazing but alas I was rudely informed that I am a muggle. That is really upsetting.

After touring the British Library, we had most of the afternoon off. Thus, we meandered about and found ourselves at a bookstore in Trafalgar Square. Here, Melissa and I planned our mini-break and drank lattes. Jenny joined us as well, despite not being involved in our mini-break. Here are the plans for our five day trip:

Day 1: Edinburgh to Hadrian's Wall. Spend the day there. Then travel to York late in the evening
Day 2: York all day. Then travel to Nottingham in the evening.
Day 3: Nottingham all day. See Robin Hood related things. Then travel to Cardiff late in the evening.
Day 4: Spend day in Cardiff.
Day 5: Spend morning in Cardiff. Then return to London midday.

It should be a glorious trip and we are both looking forward to it.

After planning the trip, we returned to the dorms to do our laundry. That took about two hours and involved other people drinking lots of beers and us making fun of them. Then we went to forage for food. We ended up at Wagamama, a very popular noodle shop located throughout the city. It was wonderful. They had noodles of the soba, udon, and ramen variety. I highly recommend it to all. Thus ended our Thursday, for we turned in early to get some sleep for our long day trip that would follow on Friday. Til then!
